On July 27, 2022 Wall of Remembrance will become the permanent home to the names of over 36,000 American servicemen and 7,100 Korean Augmentation to the United States Army (KATUSA) who gave their lives defending the people of South Korea.

If you did not receive a save the date notification and would like to attend the Dedication Ceremony on July 27th, please fill out the interest form. Please submit only 1 interest form for your family or group. In June we will send out a formal invitation and registration link that you must complete to attend the Dedication Ceremony.
Tickets and priority seating will be reserved for Korean War Veterans and Gold Star Families.

When do I need to register to attend the event?

What do I need to pay for to attend this event?
The Wall of Remembrance Ceremony is a free event. All invited guests are responsible for their own expenses (meals, hotel, travel expenses). However, complimentary bus transportation from the host hotels to the ceremony will be provided. More information about the shuttle service will be sent to registered guests closer to the ceremony.
Can I sit together with my group of friends or organization?
There will be a special section for Korean War Veterans and Gold Star families of Korean War fallen heroes. 2 family members can be seated in this special section. If you have more than 2 family members, then the other family members would have to be seated in a different section.

Will this event be televised?
Yes, both the pre-show program and the dedication ceremony will be streamed live around the world via the Foundation’s Facebook and YouTube Channel.
Can I sit together with my group of friends or organization?
There will be a special section for Gold Star families of Korean War fallen heroes. 2 family members for each fallen hero can be seated in this special section. If you have more than 2 family members, then the other family members would have to be seated in a different section.
What security measures do I need to be aware of to attend the Dedication Ceremony
Each guest will be asked to walk through magnetometers. If you have any metal parts in your body, please inform the security officers.
Will water be provided during the dedication ceremony?
Yes.
What restrooms will be available?
There will be Port-O-Johns located throughout the site and handicapped Port-O -Johns will also be provided.
What items should I bring to the ceremony?
If you would like to, you can bring your own water, please do so. Also we recommend you bring hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, and cooling packs.
Will there be emergency medical services available at the ceremony?
Yes, there will be ambulances located on site and trained medical first responders will also be available.
Will I be allowed to take photos during the ceremony?
Yes, you can take photos from where you are seated. Every guest is expected to remain in their seats during the ceremony.
What kind of seating will you have?
Individual chairs will be setup in the grass area for all guests attending the Dedication Ceremony.
How do I get to the dedication ceremony?
Complimentary buses will be provided to bring invited guests from a list of designated hotels to the Dedication Ceremony
How much walking will be involved in getting to the Dedication ceremony seating area?
You will have to walk about 200 yards over uneven surfaces to the seating area located in the grass area. . We highly encourage you to bring your own wheelchair or walker if necessary.
Will there be a commemorative program given at the ceremony?
Yes.
Will there be volunteers to help me if I have difficulty walking?
There will be volunteers at the ceremony. However we encourage you to bring with you, someone who can best assist you.
Will there be a hospitality area at the hotel where guests can go to obtain information
Yes, there will be hospitality areas/tables at the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel for the guest to obtain any information and ask questions.
Can I book a different hotel from the list of hotels you have designated?
Yes, you can reserve your room at any hotel you choose. However, if you would like to take advantage of the complimentary bus transportation, you must get to one of the designated hotels to ride the bus to the ceremony. You must also indicate the number of seats you will need on the bus when you register.
When should I book my hotel room?
All invited guests will receive an email indicating that hotel information is available on the Korean War Veterans Memorial Foundation website. We encourage you to reserve your room as soon as possible since the number of rooms available at the special rate are limited.
What is the dress code for the Dedication ceremony?
Summer Business Casual. No jeans or t-shirts.
Should I bring my own wheelchair and mobility devices to the ceremony and events?
Yes, please bring your own wheelchair, walker or other mobility device to the scheduled events. We highly recommend bringing a transport chair instead of a full sized wheelchair and a folding walker. Please make sure your mobility devices have a label with your name on it so that it can be easily identified.
Will there be emergency medical services available at the ceremony?
Yes, there will be ambulances located on site, trained medical first responders and cooling tents will also be available.

What kind of transportation is provided for the scheduled events?
Complimentary buses will be provided to bring invited guests from the host hotels and the DPAA hotel to the planned events. Specific times of bus departure will be provided when you check into the hotel.
When will buses leave the Dedication ceremony to take me back to the hotel?
Shortly after the ceremony ends. You will have time to visit the Memorial and Wall of Remembrance after the ceremony before departing.
Will there be a lift on the complimentary bus, if a guest is in a wheelchair or walker and cannot use the steps?
Yes.
How can I get from the airport to my hotel?
You will need to make your own transportation arrangements to get from the airport to the hotel. (Taxi, uber, rental car)
Can I drive to the ceremony and park nearby?
We strongly recommend you do not drive to the ceremony as many streets will be closed off for the event and there is very limited parking. If you live locally and plan to attend the events, it would be best to take an Uber to the Lincoln Memorial and walk from the Lincoln Memorial to the Korean War Veterans Memorial. Also recommend taking Metro.
Will I be required to wear a mask? (Cloth or N95 mask?)
Not determined yet. Will depend on the CDC and DC requirements and guidelines, when we are closer to the date of the event.
Do I need to be vaccinated to attend the ceremony?
No.
Am I required to show proof of vaccination against COVID? Does it have to be original vaccination card or a copy or photo of the vaccination card?
Not at this time.
